Frequently asked questions about our roof vents

Why and where are roof vents useful?

Roof vents provide comfortable light, fresh air, and a pleasant indoor climate in motorhomes and caravans, even with all other windows and doors closed. With the right roof vents, UV radiation, noise, and dirt stay outside. A roof vent is also particularly useful in the bathroom area of your camper.

Is continuous ventilation necessary?

Continuous ventilation via a roof vent ensures a minimum level of airflow in the vehicle and prevents dangerous CO2 concentrations. Our VisionStar model is available with and without continuous ventilation. It is possible to close the vent later by installing a seal. In this case, please contact your vehicle manufacturer before installing the seal. All other models are offered exclusively with non-closable continuous ventilation.

Is it possible to close the permanent ventilation on my roof vent?

We strongly advise against closing off existing permanent ventilation, as a minimum ventilation level in the vehicle must be maintained to prevent dangerous CO2 concentrations. Our VisionStar model is available with and without permanent ventilation. It is possible to close the ventilation system retroactively by installing a seal. In this case, please contact your vehicle manufacturer before installing the seal. All other models are offered exclusively with permanent ventilation that cannot be closed.

How much does it cost to install a roof vent in a motorhome?

The cost of installing a roof vent always depends on the specific installation situation. Please contact a specialist company you trust for a quote.

Where can I find the registration number (E13) and general operating permit for the TÜV inspection?

The approval number (E13*43R*) is stamped either on the side of the outer hood or on the inner hood (VisionStar). You can download the required operating permit from our website.

What is the maximum speed for MPK roof hatches?

We recommend a maximum speed of 160 km/h for the VisionStar and VisionVent models, and 130 km/h for all other models. Always ensure that the roof hatches are mounted with the hinges or stays facing forward and that they are closed and locked before driving.

My skylight is damaged, which replacement cover do I need?

Our roof hatches for cutout dimensions of 40x40 (400x400 mm) and 28x28 (280x280 mm) are generally interchangeable. Thanks to this modular system, replacement hatches can be easily attached to an existing outer frame of the corresponding size.

Is it possible to retrofit a combination or pleated blind frame?

Thanks to our modular system, our inner frames for cutout dimensions 40x40 (400x400 mm) and 28x28 (280x280 mm) can be freely exchanged and retrofitted.

How do I clean roof vents?

Simply clean the frames and covers of the MPK roof hatches with warm water and a soft cloth. For pleated blinds, nets, etc., please only vacuum/dust carefully. For a more thorough cleaning, you can also remove the inner frames and covers and clean them in a large container of water – please refer to the operating instructions . Use caution with cleaning agents, as these can damage the plastic!

Do you also offer adapter frames for other vehicle models?

No, we only offer adapter frames for the vehicle models we have listed.
